Island Girls Excursions was born from a father’s vision and a family’s love for the Florida Keys.

Jonn Strama, a lifelong Keys local, first built and operated the well-known Marathon Mermaid. That business allowed him to share the waters he loved with countless visitors, and it set the foundation for what would come next.
 

Over the years, Jonn’s boatbuilding skills and dedication to quality made him sought after throughout the Keys. He went on to design and build custom catamarans for several well-known operations, including:

But Jonn’s proudest accomplishment is much closer to home: building a 52’ custom catamaran for his daughters. With Island Girls Excursions, Jonn’s dream wasn’t just about creating another boat — it was about creating a future. A family-run business that would allow his daughters to grow up in the community where they were born, with an opportunity to share the Keys the way he always has: with passion, joy, and authenticity.
 

Today, Island Girls Excursions carries that legacy forward. Every sandbar trip and sunset cruise is more than a tour — it’s part of a story rooted in family, craftsmanship, and the waters of the Florida Keys.
